BigCharlie Poet (aka BCP) is a Spoken Word Artist and Performance Poet currently hiding away in Morecambe.

Originally from Shipley in West Yorkshire, he moved to the other side of the Pennines in search of a Uni education that never felt really comfortable. Writing kept him going, and a chance conversation about a competition taking place in Lancaster launched him into the world of performing what he had been keeping to himself for years.

Since that time, BCP has gone on to guest at nights in Kendal, Salford and Liverpool, and has taken part in the BBC Edinburgh Fringe Slam. His video for “It’s The Grit That Makes The Pearl”, recorded at Evidently in Salford, was selected as Spoken Word video of the week by The Guardian online.

He was also the host of Working Title, a monthly spoken word night held at The Three Mariners in Lancaster on the last Tuesday of every month.
